Because insect or moisture related crawlspace issues vary from home to home so do the corrective measures. Some moisture issues are remedied with a simple (not easy) fix. That might be a moisture or vapor barrier or could be much more complicated and need a drainage system with full encapsulation and dehumidifyer. Let’s look at the process…
1. Step One
First we will conduct a thorough inspection complete with wood moisture content measurements. These readings need to be below 20.0% in order to be in an acceptable level. In real estate transactions any readings 20.0% or higher require corecctive measures. In step one, the inspection process, we are also looking for any standing water or signs that there has been standing water in the past.
2. Step Two
In step two we are analyzing the data recovered in step one and beginning to determine the best methods to correct the conditions discovered. Whether a simple moisture barrier or other measures are needed, careful consideration of the dwelling and it’s construction features are important.
3. Step Three
Last we use the process and procedure checklists for the implementation of the solutions for the issues we have discovered. We use only the highest rated suppliers, products and thoroughly trained personnel when it comes to protecting your home.
